Sarnia Community Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who guide our mission of connecting generous donors with the causes and organizations shaping our community's future.
Our Board members bring their time, expertise, and community connections to help steward permanent endowments and flow-through funds, oversee prudent investment management, and support donor relations and grant-making across Sarnia-Lambton.
What we're looking for
We welcome directors from all walks of life — you don't need a background in philanthropy or finance to make a meaningful contribution. What matters most is a commitment to Sarnia-Lambton and a willingness to learn, listen, and lead.
A genuine interest in the people, organizations, and needs of our region.
Availability to attend regular Board meetings and participate in committee work.
A thoughtful, collaborative approach to governance and decision-making.
Skills in areas like finance, law, fundraising, marketing, or nonprofit leadership are valued but not required.
Equity, diversity, and inclusion are fundamental to our success. A diverse Board brings the range of perspectives and lived experience needed to serve our community well, and we encourage applicants of all backgrounds, abilities, cultures, and identities to reach out.
Reach out directly to our team to start a conversation about current openings and how your skills and interests could fit.
